Postpartum Depression and Anxiety

Every woman's experience with motherhood is unique. Some Moms are blissful and others are filled with fear, sadness, and feel completely overwhelmed. PPD is a devastating, long lasting sadness where you feel unmotivated, confused and want to hide away.
Here are some common symptoms:

-
You feel anxious, worried, irritable, or angry most of the time
-
You withdraw from family and friends
-
You feel sad and cry a lot for no reason
-
You don't feel bonded to your baby, you may resent him/her
-
You blame yourself and feel guilty
-
You say "I can't do this" and feel you will never do it right.
-
You believe you should be handling motherhood better and feel your baby deserves better
-
You wonder "What's wrong with me? I should be happy!"
-
Some women have the urge to hurt themselves or their babies

Postpartum Depression and Anxiety is NOT:

-
It is NOT your fault.
-
You don't have to suffer alone in silence.
-
It is nothing to be ashamed of.
-
It is NOT a sign of weakness.
