Postpartum Depression and Anxiety

Every woman's experience with motherhood is unique. Some Moms are blissful and others are filled with fear, sadness, and feel completely overwhelmed. PPD is a devastating, long lasting sadness where you feel unmotivated, confused and want to hide away.

Here are some common symptoms:

  • You feel anxious, worried, irritable, or angry most of the time

  • You withdraw from family and friends

  • You feel sad and cry a lot for no reason

  • You don't feel bonded to your baby, you may resent him/her

  • You blame yourself and feel guilty

  • You say "I can't do this" and feel you will never do it right.

  • You believe you should be handling motherhood better and feel your baby deserves better

  • You wonder "What's wrong with me? I should be happy!"

  • Some women have the urge to hurt themselves or their babies

Postpartum Depression and Anxiety is NOT:

  • It is NOT your fault.

  • You don't have to suffer alone in silence.

  • It is nothing to be ashamed of.

  • It is NOT a sign of weakness.
